Under the auspices of UNECE, the High Level group for the modernization of Statistics has started the project Input privacy preserving techniques. It was started because it is expected that statistical offices will need these techniques within a few years. For example, to gain access to sources that are inaccessible due to privacy, as a replacement for surveys due to declining response or to enable new collaborations.
In the presentation, both technology is discussed, as well as what is involved besides technology when you think of these kinds of solutions, both organizationally and legally. The first results are presented when the experiments with, for example, International trade that are currently underway are discussed.
Keywords: Privacy preserving techniques, access to new data sources, confidentiality
