Beginning with the traditional one-response linear model with independent errors, the correlation structure may become more complex when some characteristics are added to the model, namely observing multiple responses (intra-correlation), observations taken on the same subject at different design points (inter-correlation), observing multiple subjects that may or may not share similar characteristics like the individual covariance structures,… All these models will be analyzed from the point of view of Optimal Design of Experiments, some recent works about the subject will be reviewed and new extensions will be proposed. Examples of computation of optimal designs for the different correlation structures will be shown as well.
