Electric power is transferred between suppliers and consumers using a power distribution network. This network is changeable over time because consumers may change suppliers. Due to the changing nature of the distribution network, the connections between suppliers and consumers of electrical energy are unknown and must be updated periodically. In the project carried out together with Ormazabal S.L. we have reformulated the power grid identification problem as a combinatorial optimization problem. The optimization problem consists of associating to each consumer a single supplier in such a way that the difference between the energy consumed and the energy produced by each supplier is minimized. The optimization problem has been approached using hybrid algorithms that combine genetic algorithms and local search.
