Nuevas estrategias para estimar los parámetros de la GPD

Un problema recurrente en la Teoría de Valores Extremos es el hecho de utilizar solo la información contenida en una parte reducida del conjunto de datos para estimar los parámetros de la distribución límite. En particular, en el método de excesos de un umbral para la distribución de Pareto Generalizada(GPD), se consideran únicamente las observaciones por encima de cierto umbral, desperdiciando gran cantidad de información. En este trabajo, se presentan nuevas estrategias para estimar dichos parámetros, aprovechando la información no solo de los datos de la cola sino también la de los datos centrales. La idea es establecer relaciones entre los parámetros de la distribución base y la de valores extremos, a partir de resultados asintóticos o empíricos, para construir distribuciones a priori muy informativas que mejoren las estimaciones. Para comprobar su validez mostraremos tanto resultados de simulación como de aplicación a conjuntos de datos reales de contaminación del aire en España.

On the way back, we can go back by bus, which will leave from the same place where they left us at the Alhambra. 6. Although the way to the Alhambra by bus seems long, it really is close to the city. We invite you, whoever wishes, to go down for a pleasant walk. 7. Do not forget to take your Alhambra ticket and your identity card or passport. The document must be the same whose number matches the ticket number you have.
