La motivación para este estudio es el diagnóstico temprano del Alzheimer a partir de medidas repetidas en distintas visitas médicas de variables relacionadas con exámenes cognitivos y medidas cerebrales de imágenes de resonancia magnética, controlando otras variables. Ya que la variable de respuesta es binaria (padecer o no la enfermedad), los modelos estadísticos apropiados se enmarcan en la teoría general de los GLM, y en particular en la regresión logística. Sin embargo, hay muchos casos en los que los datos están agrupados y existe, por ello, una estructura de correlación. Esto se puede resolver introduciendo en el modelo efectos aleatorios que asumen una estructura jerárquica en la que los datos se agrupan en categorías de orden superior. Se obtienen así los modelos de regresión logística mixtos, cuyo uso en la práctica está creciendo mucho. La interpretación nos lleva a concluir que la variable significativa para diagnosticar el Alzheimer temprano es el examen minimental.

    Visit Alhambra

    Tomorrow, Thursday, we will visit the Alhambra. 1. At 7:00 p.m., buses will start leaving from the door of the Hotel Granada Center (in front of the door of the Faculty of Sciences) 2. Upon arrival, groups with guides will be organized. 3. There will be groups in English language. These groups will wait at the destination until the arrival of all buses. 4. After the visit to the Alhambra we will walk to the Carmen de los Mártires to have a cocktail. 5.
