Today organizations long-term success is built not only on profitability but also on its contribution to society. It is then urgent to design and plan their supply chains accounting for sustainability goals. Additionally, supply chains have been facing an increased exposure to unpredictable events as they are complex structures spread around the world. To deal with such reality supply chains must be resilient while guaranteeing sustainability goals: economic; environmental and social concerns.
This work explores this challenge and discusses the development of optimisation-based decision tools to support decision makers on how to design resilient and sustainable supply chains.
