Available literature in operational research has shown that despite many theoretical and methodological advances in multiples areas, the adoption of operational research methods in practice is not high, as well as its impact in organizations. Several studies have pointed out that improving impact in operational research requires a higher involvement of stakeholders in the modelling process. In this talk we discuss how collaborative value modelling – based on a combination of Delphi and decision conferencing processes – can be used to involve a large number of stakeholders in the development of operational research models. Examples from the use of collaborative value model in developing indices, in building scenarios and in evaluation health technologies will be presented.
